The "votes" are in. The people have spoken - and signed. Change is happening.

The five activists whose petitions are featured below gathered the most signatures in Care2's "Yes YOU Can!" Challenge, which spanned the course of President Obama's first 100 days in office. Help these winning citizen activists make a difference today!

1st Place Winner - over 47,000 signatures!
Return abducted minor Sean Goldman to his father
Four years ago, then four-year-old Sean Goldman was abducted to Brazil by his mother. After her recent death, the man recently married to her was awarded custody by a Brazilian court. Ever since the kidnapping, Sean's father David Goldman has waged a legal battle to have Sean returned to him, as required by U.S. law and an international treaty signed by both the U.S. and Brazil. The full U.S. Congress has passed a resolution supporting David's fight to bring his son home. David's story has been featured in media outlets - radio, television, and print - around the world.

2nd Place Winner - over 43,000 signatures!
Stimulate the Economy -- Forgive Student Loans!
Over the past twenty years, student loan debt in the United States has more than doubled. Many graduates and families pay more than a third of their monthly income to student loan debt. Invest our tax dollars in paying of student loan debts in this country, and we free our college grads to create new businesses, invest in homes, and become a foundation for the new economy.

3rd Place Winner - over 40,000 signatures!
Maximum Penalty for the Men Who Hacked Up a Puppy
Hardened police officers were shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay, Australia. Police have even obtained graphic video footage of the terrible attack. The maximum penalty for such an offense is $75,000 or two years in jail but to date, the worst sentence has only been a four month jail term.

4th Place Winner - over 28,000 signatures!
SEAL's Dog Killed: Give Criminals Maximum Sentence!
Former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell's therapy dog was brutally killed by four young men last week. Such cruelty is bad enough, but Luttrell's dog, Dasy, was no ordinary pet. Luttrell was the only survivor from a 2005 battle that caused the largest loss of life in SEAL history. Luttrell was given Dasy during his recovery period after sustaining horrific wounds. Each letter in Dasy's name represents his fallen SEAL team members.

Help SPCA International demand that Texas courts prosecute the four animal abuse criminals to the fullest extent of the law:

5th Place Winner - over 27,000 signatures!
Protest Amazon's new "adult" policy
Over the Easter holiday weekend in April, books with gay, lesbian and feminist themes started quietly losing their sales ratings on Amazon.com, causing these books to disappear from search results and related books listings, because these books were classified as "adult" books. Activists across the web cried foul and pressured Amazon to review their policy on "adult" books and fix this problem.

Honorable Mention - 148,615 signatures!
Ban Canada's Annual Seal Hunt
This petition was an amazing success, both in terms of the number of people who signed but also the pressure this petition plus all the other petitions and protests have put on the governments of Canada, Russia, the European Union and others. Russia banned all hunting of baby seals a few months ago, and the EU has just banned the sale of seal products in protest of Canada's hunt. The citizen activist who created this petition has closed it, which is why it is no longer in the running for the winners list, but this petition and the activist behind it deserve recognition!
