Welcome to our 1st "MEDICAL MONDAY!" *smile*
Every Monday will feature a new way YOU can "Be A Hero"
to someone involved in, or effected by, the world of medicine.
Strength Through Unity,

Minerva Novoa, Internet Advocacy Coordinator | Dear crisci, You may be familiar with case of actor Dennis Quaid, whose infant twins almost died when they were injected with a massive dose of blood thinner. The adult and baby doses were similarly packaged, leading to the mix-up. Quaid went public, and the hospital installed a computerized medication system to prevent future errors. But most medical errors are kept secret. Ten years ago, the Institute of Medicine called for immediate action to end errors like this but very little progress has been made since then. Every year our leaders ignore these errors, another 100,000 Americans needlessly die and $17 billion is spent treating them. Sign our petition to stop the secrecy and prevent medical errors. Help us push for less talk and more action! | | | | |
